Amazing service. Very pricey but well worth it. Amazing desserts. And a amazing view.
The food was amazing! The view is great! Definitely recommend the mussels. The service was not great. I was not sure who our waitress was because it wasn’t the one who introduced herself, (maybe it is the type of place where anyone checks on you) but it felt like we were forgotten about a several times.
Fantastic food and service!
The pizza today 12/11/2019 was amazing!! cheese did not stay on the pizza but the flavor was fantastic and the individuals were extremely welcoming for someone who needed to study. more students form SMCC. If you would like a quiet place to study with something to munch on, THIS IS THE PLACE! its also a fantastic place to go just to relax and eat good food.
The atmosphere and drinks are amazing! A couple suggestions for improvement include more plant based options on the food menu as well as the elimination of plastic straws due to the restaurants close proximity of the ocean. This would be responsible and conscientious considering the issue of excessive plastic in our oceans. Thick paper straws would be a great replacement or option presented by the wait staff. That being said, this is a great addition to the neighborhood and a tasteful modern addition to the south Portland Maine waterfront.
Always a terrific meal and experience. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Good to see them back in these crazy times!
We rented out the top floor for my daughters wedding. Awesome staff and delicious food. It was the perfect location for a special occasion Beautiful views of the harbor and Portland.
It's a little bit removed from the popular neighborhoods in Portland, and we only had drinks and lite bites but it's a really beautiful restaurant and it's lovely to sit on the deck and watch the sunset. The immediate surroundings are a little bit commercial (as in boat launches and offices) so don't expect to come put your name down for a table and then explore. The whole menu looked delicious - I would definitely come back on a future visit to Maine.
Highly highly recommended! This place is absolutely fabulous! We drove from Boston to visit this restaurant. The chef needs to come to Boston and open a restaurant ASAP. The food was amazing and tasty. The atmosphere was cozy. The restaurant is very clean. The dessert was EXCELLENT. Our waitress was super sweet and friendly. We really enjoyed ourselves here.
Are you kidding me? Best new restaurant in the greater Portland area! We are so lucky here in Portland that these new restaurants find a home in our beautiful State! Splendid setting at the water (even in winter time), friendly and professional service and spectacular food. The passion and creativity of Stephanie Brown knows no boundaries. I had the "Slow Cooked Oxtail Ragu Simmered in Savory Tomato Stew, Served Atop Seared Polenta Croutons", and it was delicious! What else can I say? Make your reservation now : )
Most of the entrees were tasty but unfortunately the service was slow and a bit unfriendly not conducive to wanting to stay which is unusual for us. There was nothing offered off the menu. Disappointed compared to our last visit.
In the Portland area, it's hard to find the combination of good view and good food - but now you have. A friendly environment looking over a marina with good food and drinks. On a nice day the outside tables make for a true Maine summer experience.
My wife and I have eaten here a couple of times. The food and service is good. Nice location on the water. My only knock is the last time we were there, we ordered the scallop appetizer which was overpriced for what we got. It was $14 and we they served us 2 breaded scallops.
Great restaurant off the beaten path. Views of the marina, very friendly staff, plenty of parking. Open kitchen shows the prep area, pretty cool embracing transparency. Food was very fresh and came in time.
Beautiful contemporary, clean bistro overlooking Spring Harbor Marina & Casco Bay in So. Portland, ME. Excellent surf & turf dinners while at evening business conference. (Formerly Joe's Boathouse for years)--gorgeous modern setting. Indoor & spectacular outdoor dining. Staff very professional, hardworking and quick. Don't miss this wonderful bistro.
This was my second time here and I loved everything. Kerry was an excellent server and the food was great. Nice wine list and a couple cocktails I look forward to coming back to try. Great little lunch by the water.
The food and atmosphere was amazing. Highly recommend it.
The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the staff was friendly and very attentive. That said, we visited specifically to try the impossible burger, which they apparently only serve for lunch. Even though there is a burger on the dinner menu, they refused to substitute the meat. I feel like the request to substitute one type of burger patty for another is not unreasonable, especially when they clearly have it in stock and serve it for lunch. I ended up ordering their regular hamburger, which was overcooked - brown all the way through, considering I ordered it medium.
Almost 4 stars because the staff was so wonderful, attentive and friendly. I did like that there were many new takes on familiar dishes, but we felt that several items we ordered were not as described on the menu. The food was good, but far too expensive not to be amazing.
Good food, great service, nice setting. Got there at the end of the dinner rush and were seated immediately. Although the place was busy the server was patient with our questions and helped us with beer samples and food choices. My dish was plentiful and delicious, my wife's was on the small side and a little bland. Overall the harbor location and the service made it worthwhile.
Food was good. Staff very accommodating. But odd policies like no to go food no tomato juice for bloody Mary longish wait. Would give it one more try
Great place away from the tourist crowds. We live locally and often have a tough time finding a last-minute table. They accommodated our ten-person group (with three little kids). The food was great, the service was very good. We will be back!
North 43 Bistro has a nice waterfront location with plenty of parking. The menu is limited, but changes every 4 weeks. The wine list is on the pricey side, but today I enjoyed a French white Bordeaux that was simply outstanding and worth every penny ($49). Our server Elliot gave some good menu advice, which was very much appreciated. Definitely worth a visit for lunch or dinner.
An evening dinner here was a culinary heaven and our server Eliot was the cherry on top of a remarkable day of soaking up as much of Maine as we could in a few days. Our service began with some outstanding cocktails. The Bee's Knees was a lemony delight and the Pain Killer was authentic. the fried goat cheese starter was unique and quite delicious. Swordfish and scallops as entrees were equally as delicious......and then dessert...oh my what a night to remember!! Thank you Eliot for adding a warm and friendly atmosphere to this evening.
Had an extremely fulfilling experience at North43Bistro tonight for my wife’s birthday. Everything from A-Z was phenomenal—service, drinks, ambiance, starters, entrees and desserts. I would highly recommend this and rank it with some of the best I have had in the Greater Portland area.
Beautiful Location, and building. Great food both times I went.
Jim did a great job. Just the right attention and suggestions. Thank you.
Wonderful food and view!
Excellent place to wine and dine! Great South Portland eatery!
When the ancient Romans concocted a recipe to blend cream from the Tuscan Foothills alongside hand picked mushrooms from the Torino mountainside, never in their wildest imagination would they have dreamed of a soup as tantalizing as the the cream of mushroom soup at North 43.Being the first time at this fine establishment I don't have much else to share other than the bread is fantastic. The fries are amazing and the service is top notch.Don't be a stranger and make your way down to the water front.Family friendly. Amazing views, beautiful decor.
The food and atmosphere where amazing!
I had seared salmon and a key lime desert and I think it may be the best meal I've ever had!!
Wonderful site with sweeping views of Casco Bay. Food and attention to detailed service complimented by a high end chef.
Much improved food and the noise level is way better. Summertime in the deck is really nice.
Great atmosphere, food was excellent. Would have given 5 stars if they had a slightly better beer selection. They did have Lunch by Maine Beer thankfully.
Starters were beautiful!! Meal was gorgeous, shout out to the cook it was a Male whoever was working the 18th! Well done! You out did yourself. The waiter was such a nice guy and the Manager was a sweetheart! Thank you for dessert. The swordfish was over the top. We drove all the way from Bangor in snow so deep we almost died and it was worth it. Thank you guys very much. Beautiful business.
